Programs

Instruction is offered to students based on their individual needs and abilities.  The Karate CAN-DO! Program offers a variety of class structures geared to the needs of children with challenges, from inclusive classes with students of all abilities, to individual private instruction, to a combination of both.   Indeed, a central goal of the program is to help children develop socially as well as physically so they can ultimately participate in mainstream classes.

Karate CAN-DO! Classes

Designed for students with special needs who can function well in a class with other students, but require additional assistance. The classes are divided by age and typically have a instructor to student ratio of 1:3.

Inclusive Classes

Many children with challenges are able to join typical students in classes.  For these students, working alongside their classmates helps their growth and social development.

Private Classes

Some children require one-on-one teaching to best meet their needs, as determined following  an assessment by Sensei Kohn.  Sensei works with these students to help develop their physical abilities and social skills before mainstreaming them into classes.
