Training for International Events
The Karate CAN-DO! Foundation was formed to help children and adults with special needs to reach their full potential through the teachings and techniques of karate. To date, the Foundation has been an active supporter of a number of challenged athletes and special programs directed to the challenged athlete, and support of the National Team for the 2012 games is expected to be a major focus of the Foundation moving forward. Specifically, the Board of the Foundation expects that the Foundation will look to contribute to this effort in a number of ways, including:- Provide financial assistance to support the recruitment and development of a US National Disable Karate Team;
- To provide financial assistance to host local tournaments and national competitions to seek out and recruit the best athletes possible to represent the United States in international competition; and
- To provide financial support the US Team as it competes in World Karate Federation Disabled Karate Tournament in Paris, April, 2012.
